Tomato Onion Salad Bhaji


Tomato onion salad bhaji is a simple curry made from onion, tomatoes and some seasonings often served with pav.

Serves: 3
Ingredients:
  1. Onion (sliced) - 4 to 5 medium
  2. Tomato (chopped) - 2 big
  3. Mustard seeds - a pinch (optional)
  4. Green chilies (chopped) - 2
  5. Garlic (crushed) - 3 - 4 cloves
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Kashmiri mirchi powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. Garam masala - 1/4 tsp 
  9. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  10. Cloves - 2 - 3
  11. Cinnamon powder - a pinch
  12. Tomato ketchup - 1 to 1 1/2 tsp (optional)
  13. Oil - 1.5 to 2 tbsp
  14. Coriander leaves - for garnishing
  15. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  16. Salt to taste
Procedure:
  • Heat oil in a pan and mustard seeds.
  • Add onion, fry till it turns slightly golden brown.
  • Add ingredients numbering 4 to 8, stir fry for 10 second.
  • Add tomato, stir fry till tomato softens.
  • Add water (1.5 cup approx.) ketchup, sugar and salt.
  • Cook for 5 min.
  • Coarsely crush cumin seeds and cloves with the help of pestle. 
  • Add crushed cumin seeds, cloves and cinnamon powder.
  • Stir well and simmer for a min.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with pav/chapati.
